After graduating from the Faculty of Medicine of Ege University, Dr. Türköz completed his cardiovascular surgery specialization at İzmir Atatürk Hospital, and later worked there as a specialist surgeon for three years. Following this, in 1996, he started working as an assistant professor at Inönü University in Malatya, where he was one of the founding members of the newly established adult heart surgery unit. In 2001, he was appointed as the head of the cardiovascular surgery department of Başkent University Hospital in Adana. Under his leadership, within a few years, the hospital has become the main referral center of the Adana, Eastern and South Eastern Anatolian regions for congenital heart disease and aortic surgeries. For example, in 2006, a total of 1360 heart surgeries were performed in the hospital. In 2007, Dr. Turkoz was promoted as the head of the cardiovascular surgery department of the new Istanbul Baskent Hospital. In a short period, the department has become a center where most of the complex congenital cardiovascular surgeries are performed. In 2013, Dr. Turkoz moved to Hisar Intercontinental Hospital. Between 2013 and 2015, Dr. Turkoz performed 473 cardiovascular surgeries on children and 201 heart surgeries on adults. In 2015 he started working at Acıbadem Bakırköy Hospital, where he continues his cardiovascular surgery work on children and adults.
